Dear reader,
Today I’m announcing a new addition to my Substack publication: The Ruck subscriber chat.
This is a conversation space in the Substack app that I set up exclusively for my subscribers — sort of like a group chat or live hangout.
While my weekly dispatches often expand in detail on a topic and run down news, sometimes (and I mean, a lot of times), I want to talk about national security developments and share my sense of what’s happening in the world. I also want to learn from you and other readers so The Ruck can be the best it can be in 2023 and beyond.
So that’s where chat comes in. I’ll post short prompts, thoughts, and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion. I’m not trying to be annoying, so it won’t be more than once per day.
To join the chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app (messages are sent via the app, not email). Please make sure you turn on push notifications so you don’t miss a chance to join the conversation as it happens.
Thanks! And I look forward to meeting you in Chat.
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Chat is available on iOS and Android. A web app is also in the works.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
I’ve already started my first chat thread so come on over and say hello!
